The District 5150 Youth Exchange Program is a member of a larger organization comprised of 15 Rotary District Youth Exchange Programs along with the western US called the Western States Student Exchange (WESSEX) Program, Inc.

What is Youth Exchange

Youth Exchange is a study-abroad opportunity for young people who spend anywhere from a few weeks to a full year as an international student hosted by local Rotary clubs.

Inbound Students

District 5150 covers 41 Rotary Clubs in cities within three Counties in Northern California (jurisdictions). The counties are Marin County, San Francisco County and San Mateo County.

Outbound Students

Eligibility

Exchanges are for people ages 15–18* who:

Have demonstrated leadership in their school and community
Are flexible and willing to try new things
Are open to cultural differences
Can serve as an ambassador for their own country
